About Me
I'm Priya Barke
I am a dancer, entrepreneur, and student at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley who is dedicated to bridging the financial gaps that prevent talented individuals from pursuing their passions. Having danced since the age of three, I have witnessed firsthand how the high cost of attire and shoes—which scholarships rarely cover—can force dedicated dancers to quit the art form they love. To address this "overlooked gap," I founded Attire & Attitude, a community-driven organization that has already redistributed over 100 items of ballet gear and established partnerships with multiple dance companies. My leadership extends beyond the studio through my work with the San Jose Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, my role as a Delegate-at-Large for the Girl Scouts, and my experience founding social ventures like the Caring Cards Committee. With a strong background in financial research, venture creation, and inclusive teaching, I combine analytical precision with a heart for service to ensure that no child is excluded from ballet because of the cost of a leotard or a pair of shoes.
